SIMPLE PAST

The simple past expresses an action in the past taking place once, never, several times.
Example: He visited his parents every weekend
It can also be used for actions taking place one after other
Example: He came in, took off his coat and sat down
or in the middle of another action
Example: When I was having breakfast, the phone suddenly rang.
In English we have irregular and regular verbs, for irregular verbs, use the past form (see http://htmlrincondelvago.com/verbosirregulares-en-ingles_1.html ). For regular verbs, just add “ed”.
Don´t forget the auxiliary for the simple past is DID and the negative form is DIDN´T
Example: He didn´t visit his parents every weekend (negative)
Did he visit his parents every weekend? (yes-no question)
When did he visit his parents? (informatiob question)
